Ostara is Richard Leviathan. Founded in 1999, and based in Australia, Ostara has released nine albums and performed across Europe, the US and Australia, including collaborations and performances with Death in June, Sol Invictus, Backworld, Sorrow / Rose McDowall, Currrent 93, Fire & Ice, Foresta di Ferro, Of the Wand and the Moon, Die Weisse Rose, Rome.

Characterised by a strong sense of History and Myth, Ostara has consistently reflected the Zeitgeist, inspired by the Troubadour tradition and European romanticism while delving into the crisis of the modern world that continues to unravel with each dark chapter.
